I got a 16oz can of this beer off the single shelf from the Festival grocery store in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The beer poured a nearly opaque dark mahogany amber with thin off white ring head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had mild chocolate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp light milk chocolate with very subtle roast and grain presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Appearance: Pours a clear, dark brown and bronzed color with a strong tan head. SRM of 21. (4.00)

Aroma: Moderate aromas of chocolates, earthy notes, English dark malt with some roasted earthy grains. (4.00)

Flavor: Moderate flavors of chocolate, English dark malt, earthy grains with a floral note. A floral note lingers. (4.25)

Feel: Medium-bodied, strong carbonation. Finishes dry. (4.00)

Compared to Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel 3/2024: Pours darker, milder head. Milder aromas. More black malt, earthy, nutty notes. Less caramel, brown bread, and sweetness.

Overall: Very nice one here. English dark malts, chocolate, brown bread and floral flavors. Comes together well. Fantastic. (Rating: 4.10)
