I got a tall boy can of this beer off the single shelf from the Festival grocery store in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had bitter pineapple and tangerine notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright semi sweet malt that slightly offset the bitter pineapple and orange presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

solid ipa, seems a shade off from max freshness in my instance, but a good beer, a nice showcase of citra in something a little more robust, especially on the bitterness, especially for citra, especially in a hazy one. it has good grain support but never runs too sweet or too full bodied, there must be some wheat in this as it has some fluffiness too, and its not the usual citra character throughout, which i think can sometimes be pretty monotone and incomplete in isolation, despite its popularity in those contexts, so i like this a little extra for showing something different with it. stone fruit in the nose, peach and pineapple, some fading malt, lemon curd familiarity, but also things like coconut and even jasmine, bright, and i wish the rest of it were fresher to match. the flavor has a light candied sweetness to it, some good more toasty malt for a second, even flashing a little old school, some tangerine, some resinous hash, even papaya and some tropical aspects before it finishes on the bitter side for this hop, which is cool. a well put together brew, simple in the right ways, flavorful, kind of wintery to me, but it could just be the fact i was drinking it on a chilly winter day. badger state is doing a nice job with the hoppy stuff in my limited experience!
