22 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. I do know that this beer has been out for quite some time now, and was just recently added to the database. My first beer from Only Child Brewing Company.
Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.
A - It pours a ridiculous five fingers of mocha foam on top of a black body with some brown highlights when held to the light. Fat sheets of lacing left on the glass.
S - This thing has mostly become a yeast bomb due to the bottle conditioning. Notes of chocolate, cream, roastiness, and some coffee grounds.
T - Taste follows the nose - earthy yeast, chocolate, coffee grounds, caramel malt, & roastiness. Good earthy / roasty bitterness on the finish.
M - The feel is crisp & smooth, with some stickiness / roasty bitterness lingering on the palate.
Overall, a solid example of a black ale, or as the label describes it, a Cascadian dark ale. Nice added bottle conditioning going on also. Very glad to have finally tried something from this brewery, and I will definitely be looking forward to more from these guys.
Only Child Brewing Night Terrors ---4/5.
