12/14...pours cloudy orange with ridiculous amounts of white foam, with a geyser bursting from the bottle. Citrus nose, very mild. Completely over carbonated which kills the flavor. Maybe a bad bottle? Can taste the rye and bitter but so much carbonation, it is very hard to evaluate.

22 oz. bottle, no Batch number or bottled on date present. Another new bottle to me from Only Child Brewing, this one a 'Session Style Ale with Rye'.
Poured into a clear balloon snifter.
A - It pours a golden orange body, with four big billowy fingers of bubbly white foam. Leaves giant patches of head everywhere, it looks like a root beer float type head. Hefty carbonation from the bottle conditioning. Looks nice.
S - Again, very yeasty from the bottle conditioning. Mild underlying notes of citrus / lemon hop presence, and a very dry rye malt presence is noted though.
T - Taste follows the nose: very dry, bready, & yeasty. The bottle conditioning of the turbinado sugar has done its thing. Bready pale malts are noticeable, even subtle herbal hopping is in there buried beneath the yeast & breadiness, but I'm not really picking up on anything that would suggest rye aside from the dryness.
M - The feel is bready and dry. Medium-bodied, with hefty carb from the bottle conditioning. Crisp & easy-drinking.
Overall, a bland offering at best from Only Child. I suppose I would try it again if they were to re-release it though.

22 Fluid Ounce Bottle

Served in a Tulip Glass
Eyes
Deep gold body with a bright white foamy head. The head collapsed and left an impressive amount of sticky lacing throughout. A decent amount of bubbles circulated throughout the glass.
Nose
Citric hops… think grapefruit and lemon. Herbal notes of lemongrass were also prominent. Subtle grainy malt backbone.
Mouth
Citric hops hit the tongue first. Overall taste turns earthy when the malts kick in. Very little taste of rye, but there is a slight presence of peppery spice towards the finish. Medium/light body. Moderate carbonation.
Overall
Not bad at all. It seemed like more of a hopped-up Pale Ale to me. However you would categorize it, this is a nice brew.
