Bottled 3/30/15; drank 4/4/15 @ the Yarchives.
See-through copper appearance.
HUGE khaki head; frothy lace.
Sweet melon & dried apricot notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
STRONG melon flavor up front; a hint of banana & faint booze heat on the finish.
A melon bomb...super drinkable & quite enjoyable.

Serving: On tap in a sampler
Served: 30 Dec 2015
Appearance: Pours a clear, almost amber color with a light, white crown. Leaves appreciable lacing on the sampler glass.
Smell: The standard sweet maltiness, as expected for the style. The hop notes ranged from piney and citrusy to dank and musty.
Taste: The dank hoppiness in this one just isn't for me. I enjoyed some of the citrus and pine assertions, but the dank, musty hops are keeping me from rating this one higher. One thing I definitely enjoyed about this beer was that it wasn't afraid of being bitter- the dank hops definitely made the IPA more noticeably bitter than other DIPAs I've had, and I feel like this is an important quality in such big beers.
Mouthfeel: Medium high body with medium carbonation.
Overall: A good DIPA, but one with a weird hop balance which is keeping me from rating it higher. While I don't need a "juicy" IPA to enjoy one, dank hops just aren't my jam. A good beer nonetheless, and one I would recommend to hop-heads at the brewery.
