Got this one from hopsolutely this past summer. Cheers for all the help guys! Much appreciated.
From a bomber into a snifter
SRM: 28
IBU: 22
OG 15.5*P
FG: 3.5*P
APPEARANCE: A clear brown pour yields a three finger, medium looking, creamy, light brown head with very good retention. Clear bistre brown in color with next to zero carbonation. Head slowly fades to a full foamy cap with nice lacing down the sides of the glass. A splotchy wisp and ring remain leaving some good lacing as the glass empties.
SMELL: Dark malts with cacao powder, sweet cream and toffee on the nose. Vanilla notes as well. Very aromatic and enticing.
TASTE: Really nice stuff. Cacao powder, toffee and vanilla cream up front with cookie dough as well. Bold and lingering finish of toffee, cacao powder, vanilla, sweet cream, cookie dough and some dark chocolate bitterness. Very nice stuff and plenty to contemplate.
PALATE: Medium body and medium levels of carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes slightly mouth-coating. Some bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Great stuff. More bitterness than expected from the IBU calculation, but it certainly works. Lots of flavor, well balanced and very well executed. I hadn't heard of these guys before but would be happy to try other stuff they've made. Another batch of this would be more than welcome too. Thanks again guys. Cheers!
