ABV: 11.5 / IBU: 40 / STYLE: TEQUILA BARREL-AGED IMPERIAL PORTER
Black color. Strong malty aromas show both the complex character of the dark malts (caramel, chocolate, toffee and soft coffee) and the influence of the aging in the Anejo Tequila barrel (earthy and agave aromas) with a soft background fruitiness from the hard-working yeast. Very full-bodied but avoiding a sweet finish, flavors reflect the enormous quantities of raw ingredients with the caramel and chocolate characters mirroring the aromas and the tequila barrel character showing more strongly in the finish with an earthy and spicy character. Hops make their presence known solely in a supporting role, giving a mild background bitterness to provide structure for the other rich flavors. Aged four months in a Sauza Anejo Tequila barrel.
