Draft on nitro at the pub in downtown Denver. Best ever beer. Simply awesome. Creamy mouth. Fabulous aroma. Perfect blend of dark malt, milk chocolate, and cocoa nibs and hint of hops.

Canned December 4th.

Looks? A clear 24k gold, good head of foam.

Smells of coffee, cocoa, more bitter notes than sweet ones.

Big coffee notes in the taste. Some cocoa definitely there. Malt brings some sweet and earthiness. Also getting some close to smokey ashy flavours.

Good mouthfeel.

Tres different this one is. I have another can but I am not looking forward to drinking it for a while.

another blonde stout has emerged, i thought this trend was on the downswing finally, but evidently not. this is really sweet, which is a shame, because the rest of it is really good. i like how much the coffee comes through, its bitter and chocolate forward, earthy and high end tasting in here, delicious, especially without any bitterness from roasted grain, it kind of stands alone in that space and takes this to the stout range, no acidity either, nice selection and usage of the coffee! the cocoa is subtle here, adds a little dark chocolate character, but its well behind the java for me. the malts are pale and simple, some honey sweetness, but i also suspect some lactose in here, creaming up the feel a little bit and making it really sugary, if not, then i have no idea why they would have cut the fermentation off so prematurely here. the sweetness is a real distraction from a nice flavor profile and a "stout" that works well in this now summery weather. the coffee lingers with the sweetness though which is nice, and overall, this is pretty good. the first new one i have had from these guys in a long time, and seemingly another good step in the right direction in terms of recipe and quality. had on tap at ophelias, which seems like a weird choice for them, this isnt a high volume drinker, but its a high volume drinking kind of bar. cool to find something this crafty there though!
