Large, frothy beige head. It settles slowly leaving behind a couple of larger bubbled spots. The liquid is dark brown where light does not pass through the edge of the glass.

Darker, deeper roasted malts without any burnt or chocolate notes. Perhaps closest to freshly cooked rye bread. Notable hop presence. I also notice some metallic aromas on subsequent whiffs.

There's a touch of caramel to the otherwise dry malt. Strong dark toasted bread flavors. This reminds me of an American Brown Ale--there's plenty of hop spice in the swallow and the body is richer than most Dunkels. Slightly below average carbonation for the style. Moderate aftertaste. Overall, this is a complex dark lager--one of the better ones I've tried.
