Blind-tasted ex name and ABV%, oh and how they sub-title the beer on the front lable with the style 'Winter honey ale'...
L- Mid amber, busy rising CO2 into a 3cm pillowy white head. 1st 1/2 poured = clear, 2nd half lifts some sediment = bottle-conditioned/no problem. Head holds really well, especially considering the ABV.
S- Strangely I register zero from the glass, from the bottle I get something a little bright and organic [!?].
T- Oh! Thank heavens that's better. I get that fat wad of Belgian estery yeast notes that somehow melds rather fruity with bright, dry and slightly sour to divine outcome. Perhaps just me and my palate tonight but I don't get outright honey; thinking on this, perhaps it is better being subtley in the mix. I do get a very slightly sweet rounded sense, maybe that's it. [Note, I do not like outright sweet or sugary notes in beer].
F- Massive CO2 in the mouth starting with 1000 bubbles pin-pricking my tongue. Rich.... oh now I suddenly got a honey note... now I'm slowly down to the final 200ml and it's warming a touch. Winter-warmer, hefty and rich (as all the girls say).
O- Nice, interesting different. I better not linger in case as it warms and the rich aspect evolves into a sweet one.
