Bottle, RBESG 2005 Grand Tasting. Brandy coloured. Spicy aroma (nutmeg, ginger?). Oaky and spicy flavour, quite dry. A bit thin mouthfeel for a beer this strength

L- By lamplight it's somewhere between ultra-dark amber and pale chestnut. Pours with haze, despite an inpenetrable (to light) layer of sediment left sticking to the bottom of the bottle. Pours with 3-5mm pale tan head, which 15mins later is holding very well.
S- Something of the Xmas spice nose here, either quite subtle or I'm bunged up this evening.
T- Quite bright, off into deep flavours, allusions to liquor/ABV%, and into a gentle dry zing on the palate in the finish.
F- For an Xmas beer it's certainly not a one-dimensional thumper. It's bright yet deep, yet refreshing, higher ABV% yet that ABV% is understated/not shouty.
O- It's a fine beer. All the facets come together really well, and balance out. I doubt my palate would tire of this after a couple, unsual for this high an ABV%. Very nice and I'd happily buy this again.
Bought from BeersOfEurope/UK for a mixed custom-pick two case delivery. 330ml bottle.
Description in the headers^ says 9%, for the record my bottle states 8.5%

Cherry red, bright, slightly veiled. Off-white foam, creamy, two fingers.
Beer on the sweet side, with sugar, spices (cinnamon, orange peel, ginger), then goosebeery and white fruit (peach), but, for a Christmas beer, not too much sweet.
Relatively sweet in the mouth, too, with candy sugar and spices, touch of apricot and yeast. But again, not too sweet.
Full body, not persistent, and the alcohl is absolutely hidden.
Not bad at all.
