never had a sorachi ace beer i didnt like, so take my penchant for this hop with a grain of salt (theres an idea! a sorachi gose...). the first beer i have really enjoyed for the new former future, which seems to be out of beer as often as they arent. this is a station 26 collaboration wheat wine with sorachi ace and although the clearish golden liquid with a short white head looks a bit mundane, its aroma is absolutely fantastic. sweeter, not totally fermented out sugars on the wheat malt base, but sorachi ace dry hopping just makes this sing with creamy lemon curd and mowed lawn notes. the flavor is similar, with a sweeter beginning and a lot of body giving way to the distinctive sorachi ace finish. i think this hop works well in a number of styles, but i have not yet seen it in a wheat wine, and i think this beer is a great and innovative success. long lasting grainy finish carries the zestiness of the hop for a long time. well hidden abv on this too. the best ive had from former future by a country mile.
