if the menu didn't say tripel, i may not have guessed it was one. first of all, the belgian yeast profile is extremely reserved, instead of the big gummy fruity esters they usually have, this one is so slight. secondly, the alcohol on this is invisible, scary easy to drink considering its strength. pale blonde in color with an orange highlight and an inch of white head with good retention. looks nice in the globe. the nose is a sweeter barley malt and maybe some wheat, definitely flusher in body than some, round and luxurious. i get very little belgian anything though, but I'm not complaining because the yeast that is there is nice, pleasant and mild. the flavor is very similar, this is more grain driven and less yeast forward than the true belgian examples of the style, but i like it like this too. full body is long on the palate, creamy in texture but still well carbonated. i like the density and the relative ease of drinkability based on the lack of alcohol presence. its extremely mild beer, the booze will sneak up on you though. one of the better constructed overall beers I've had at former future, just a far cry from what i was expecting from the style.

On tap at the brewery. Yellow-orange color, short head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, spicy and fruity at the same time. Flavor pretty much followed the nose and this was a good beer. I'm not usually a fan of tripels but this was tasty and I'd give it another shot.
