far less belgian than the obvious ones like the cali from stone and those. the yeast is nowhere near as vibrant and ester heavy, much more mellow, and i like that here. its smooth drinking, no bitter either. borderline under flavored considering what it is, and certainly compared to the field. however, with its low abv, with its subtle flavors, and with a unique hop profile thats not at all abrasive, i think it works really well in this role for the summer. i can drink a ton of it, it works in hot weather, and its not lacking as an ipa at all. different than other session types though because of the yeast, and its super well carbonated and not thin in the least. it works on so many levels, but at the same time, the idea is better than the execution, and its only as good as you let it be when you drink it. if you can forget being critical and analytic for a little while, its even better. i find thats true with a lot of beers form these guys. people were digging this at the pearl street blues thing though, so they must be appealing to a fair few folks...
