this thing is a big mess. i know these guys have been doing all lagers since they started, but they are now getting away from that. i have no idea if this one is a lager or not, there is too much cinnamon in it to have any idea. its so incredibly over flavored there its impossible to describe. just short of that cinnamon spoonful people were into some years back, its crazy, like it spilled in or something. looks a mess as well, murky and dark brown, like full of sediment, must be some cinnamon specs floating around on top. i can smell some other things, cocoa for sure, like nesquik or something, and maybe a hint of smoked pepper, but its all lost way behind the cinnamon, and thats even more true in the flavor. its not undrinkable, but i dont like it much at all. i appreciate the attempt to do something bold, but this is off by an order of magnitude in that regard. when these guys first started out, i loved their mix of old world styles and new wave innovation, it was seamless and unique. since then, beers like their cocktail lager series and this one have turned me off a little, seems cheap or something. keep pushing guys, but taste the beer before you pour it. they are capable of much better.
