This is a collaboration brew with Bellingham Beer League, but since BBL doesn't have it's own system up and running yet, it was brewed at Menace's facility.
Served in 10oz hourglass Pilsener glass. Poured a lightly hazy yellow color with 1/2 inch of white head that had OK retention and good lacing.
The aroma was mostly piney and citrusy hops, with a light malt scent in support. The taste was pretty similar and typical for the style, nice hops front and back with a bit of malt in the middle. There was a "unique" flavor I couldn't quite put my finger on though. I was informed that the batch was split, and each half dry-hopped with a different hop, so maybe that's what was giving the mystery effect.
The body was a good deal thinner than I would have liked, but did come through with a nicely dry finish. Overall, a pleasant enough brew, especially considering that (AFAIK) this is the first brew to come out of the BBL program for public consumption. Worth trying if you see it.
