Served in Nonic. Poured a very clean, clear, and bright amberish red color with 1/3 inch of tan colored head that had moderate retention and light lacing.
The aroma was certainly malt forward, and perhaps a touch on the sweet side, a pleasant change from the PNW habit of over-hopping every single brew. As a matter of fact, this beer had a very low hop profile, just a bit in the background for a touch of contrast. The beer was pretty much the same on the tongue, with addition of a slight touch of roast at the back of the throat.
The body was the typical medium of the style, and had a semi-dry finish. Drinkability was very good indeed, I could see having several over the course of an evening. Overall, a pretty nice brew, and much more enjoyable than most examples of the style that are seen often around these parts. Definitely worth a shot if you see it.
