Served in Nonic. Pored a very nice light copper color with about 1/8 inch of white head that had moderate retention and decent lacing.
The aroma had citrus hops in the lead, with some pine and floral behind, and just a bit of malty sweetness as a counterpoint. On the tongue, that malt was forward, but the hops came rushing in directly behind. Pine first, then floral, with a strong, bitter citrus finish.
The body was what I like in the style, full without being heavy, while managing a finish that was slightly sweet while being bone dry. Odd, but very enjoyable! Drinkability was very, very good, but at an ABV that borders on Imperial territory, I probably wouldn't have more than a couple in a row. Overall, a very take on the style. A must hit if you see it.
