The first note - it smells musty in the can.
I know, that sounds appealing, but let’s pour this bad boy. It’s an aggressive pour that yields a couple of fingers of light tan head sitting atop a beautiful copper colored body that pours like iced tea into the glass.
That musty smell is still there - but it’s edging toward malty. Like maybe a super undercover altbier? I am truly at a loss. But the nose is more welcoming as the beer warms.
Now for the taste - a little malt, then something like ….. spruce tips? It’s like an evergreen tree - Alaskan Beer Company has a spruce tips IPA and this vaguely reminds me of that beer.
And the best part - there’s a chile pepper flavor at the back of the palate that is AWESOME. Gimme that HEAT!!!
The mouthfeel is medium, and a smidge creamy. I’m guessing this is 6% ABV, but man is that chile pepper outstanding!!!

This beer has had multiple batches, all different, yet similar. This one is 5.5% ABV, and made with Jalapeno, Serrano, and Habanero peppers.
Served in 16oz Willi Becher. Poured a clean, clear, bright amber color, with 1/3 inch of white head that had very good retention, with OK lacing.
Oh, the front of the aroma was peppery. Lots of of nice spice, but just hints of heat. Behind that was a slightly sweet malt scent.
On the tongue, the heat was most notable, at first. Then those semi-sweet malts kicked in for balance in the mid-palate, with the peppers reminding you what's up on the finish.
The body is on the thin side of medium, but, thicker or thinner wouldn't work at all.
Drinkability is very good, even though I'd never have two in a row, and only rarely have had two in a day. Again, the batch variation is a thing, so, everyone's mileage will vary.
Overall, batch variation included, this is a nice brew. I'm really loving this batch. There is a recent ownership change, we'll see how things go, going forward.
If you see it, try it.
