Poured from a growler into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a lightly hazy, light golden amber with a quarter finger white head that dissipates to a thin film with light lacing. Aroma of bready and candi malt, light stone fruit, Belgian yeast, hints of lemon and caramel. Flavor is bready malt, Belgian yeast, apple, pear and light stone fruit, hints of lemon, some clove; a lightly astringent flavor develops into a lightly tart and drier fruit finish with light residual clove. Medium bodied with sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with classic Belgian Blonde character of light fruit juice and bready malt, but finishes a little harsh, with the carbonation giving a light seltzer-like effect into the finish, which is a little more like a Belgian pale ale with its sharp carbonation and drier character. A satisfactory, but somewhat unbalanced Belgian Blonde.
