bottle into glass
Fairly thick and creamy, light brown head. Medium thick looking pour. Opaque black look. Rich, cocoa, caramel and a touch of woody, dark roasted grain aroma. Pronounced, off-dry, rich and rounded dark roasted grain flavor, with a very slight caramel and cocoa tinge, on the side. Medium heavy bodied and finishes with a caramel tinged, very dark roasted grain flavor, without much of any sharpness, nor bite. Recommended.

The first barrel-aged brew from Menace was served in a 12oz goblet. Poured a solid black color with just a thin cap of tan head that had low retention and lacing.
The aroma was lead by a solid base stout scent, with the oak and bourbon gently accompanying the foundation.
Same on the tongue; a very nice beer, and the booze and oak add nice complimentary tones.
The body was full, smooth, even, had no boozy heat, and finished semi-sweet.
Drinkability was very good, you could easily down a couple of these things. Overall, a nice smooth and balanced take on the style. certainly worth your time if you see it.
