16.9oz bottle (no date) poured into 14oz teku. poured a very turbid and murky dark brown color with an inch of tan head that had moderate retention and light lacing.
Herbal and spice notes at the front of the aroma, with grain and floral notes in the background.
Very similar on the tongue, with the spice being sharper and more dominant. The juniper kicks in in the middle, and a yeasty spice note lingers at the back end.
The body was on the light side of medium, was a little rough across the palate, and had a dry finish.
Drinkability was good, although I'm not sure I'd have 2 in a row.
Overall, a style I'm not overly familiar with, so it's a bit hard to judge, but this is an enjoyable brew. Worth trying if you see it.
