Pours dark brown with black swirls. Black and opaque in the glass. 1 finger dark tan head is fairly dense. Good retention but only a small amount of lacing.
Aroma is dark roasted malt, bitter chocolate, and espresso. An underlying burnt aspect.
Taste is burnt malt and burnt espresso. Dark bitter chocolate as well. Dark molasses, smoke, black licorice, and sea salt.
Creamy mouth feel that's characteristic of oatmeal stouts. Medium carbonation. Strong, lingering dark chocolate.
The overly bitter/burnt aspects, especially in the taste, were major turn-offs. Even a touch of sweet counterbalance would improve this beer tremendously.

Color is jet black with a tan head that lingers on the edges. Aroma is roasty with a bit of bitterness. Taste is fairly bitter with a nice balanced roast. Full bodied with a lively carbonation. Overall, I nice IS that packs a punch!
