Carrefour “Saer Brau Amsdam Style”
33 cl can coded “L274505 161000XX 27/04/2025” and sampled on 29/11/23
€0,38 @ Carrefour Express, Sevilla, ES
Notes via stream of consciousness: Amsdam style? Is that like Gangnam style? A very clear and very light colored straw gold body is capped by a finger’s width of bright white foam that holds fairly well before dropping on itself. Some thin lacing is left behind. The aroma is lightly sweetish and semi-grainy. It’s brewed with corn but who knows how much. It has a little bit of an Elmer’s Glue paste aroma to it but it’s minor. The taste is cleaner, or at least I’m not finding it amidst the fuller maltiness, and it’s mildly bitter but balanced. In the mouth it’s medium-light in body and gently crisp-then-smooth. As I’ve said before about these cheap beers, for a few pennies on a hot summer day when it doesn’t really matter what you’re drinking they do the trick.
