A: The beer is close to being jet black in color—only traces of dark red are visible near the corners of the glass when it is held up to a bright light. It poured with a half finger high dark beige head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles on the surface and a thick collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of black licorice and cola are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of dark malts, licorice, and cola. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is a lot lighter in body compared to other beers in the style but for this reason is well suited for drinking in warmer climates.

Recently tried this at a beer tasting, not bad porter but not good either. It´s plain and doesn´t have any character to it. Boring beer. I think loses a lot of character because of the filtering process.

One of my routine stops when visiting the City of Brotherly Shove aka Philthadelphia is The Foodery (Northern Liberties) because they have a great selection of singles, including CANs and that is where I scored this one for The CANQuest ™.
From the CAN (translated): “100% Craft Beer Made in Mexico and Imported”; “hand made brewing”.
The Crack! revealed that even the imported CANs are getting onboard with filling their CANs to the brim and that is exciting news. I was so excited that I CANducted an inverted Glug to help me celebrate. This created a nice pseudo-cascade which resulted in just under two fingers of dense, fizzing light-tan head with moderate retention. Color was Dark Brown to Very Dark Brown (SRM = > 27, < 34) with garnet highlights visible throughout. Nose had a sweet chocolatiness with a light smokiness, not quite milk chocolate, but not dark chocolate, either. Mouthfeel was light and thin for this style. The taste definitely had a sweet chocolate bent to it. This is all appropriate to the Brown Porter style and while it may be stylistically correct, it really was not my bag. Finish remained sweet, however, not cloying, which was in its favor for me. It was a novelty and a real one-and-done for me. YMMV.

12 oz can poured dark brown; clear but opaque in the glass.
Weak aroma but adequate strength of flavor, and good quality. Leans a bit towards lighter roasted malts. Very lightly sweet.

Yes, another beer courtesy of the legendary woodychandler. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a cola color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some roasted malts. Taste is roasted malts, a bit of coffee, very easy drinking. Feels light in the mouth and overall kind of what I would expect from a warm climate-dark beer.
