Brown orange color with practically no head.
Nice nutty aroma with predominant notes of malt sweetness, toffee, molasses and dry fruits. I can swear I can feel recently cooked pinhão nut. And I just had some a few hours ago, helping my olfactory memory.
Flavor with notes of citrusy hops, toffee, a bit of wood, yes! Pinhão, mild pine, some earth and prunes in caramel. Dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness and a residual malt and cooked nut note.
Bordering medium body with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol of 8.5% is very well hidden. It feels like a regular lager.
Although relatively low complexity for the style, this was very pleasant and easy to drink. The cooked pinhão fit like a glove to the recipe. They should age some in oak or local wood barrels. I would sure seek this again.
