Largest craft brewery in North Kansas City, and with that said, it can play host to parties of various sizes - from couples to weddings. The main room features a long bar with over a dozen seats and a large selection of low and high 4 tops and a set of couches in the corner. The next room features tables of various sizes that can, and are, often moved off to the side for standing room space. A patio on the main floor plays host to dozens and dozens of patrons who wish to sit outside. Upstairs, the patio is saved for events (such as wedding receptions). Cinder Block has a number of flagships that are all available at all times. In addition to these flagships is a pretty reliable rotation of seasonals. Staff is friendly and helpful in picking out a beer. I have not tried the beer.

Just a bit north of Kansas City

Pleasant larger main room, with another adjoining room and ample outdoor space. Industrial feel to the whole place. Large windows always a plus.

Friendly staff and tasty in house brews...I liked the atmosphere and vibe of this place...Well worth a visit if in KC for a visit or if you are a local.

My wife and I visited this brewery on a trip to Kansas City. Located in a trendy but industrial area in North KC, the brewery has a very nice vibe. Service, though, was curt and not really welcoming. The patio was wonderful, with plenty of seating and games. We were there at sunset and it was spectacular. I had an IPA and my wife had a Hefeweizen. Both were respectable. Good, with the only ding being the service.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon while in KC. They have a very large tasting room with a long bar and two flatscreens. College games on either. There's a second room, that's almost as large as the main room - just past the rack of beer aging barrels - followed by a large outdoor space with corn hole and picnic tables and is pet friendly. I was impressed by the size and the thoughtful layout. The space was industrial, but comfortable and would easily accommodate a large group. The vibe was chill. Definitely a locals hangout, but friendly all around. Groups of beer dorks, couples and just your average Joe enjoying a brew on a beautiful fall afternoon in the midwest.

I was initially a little taken back by the ten $ it cost for my 1st beer, but it was a whiskey barrel aged black rye (10.2%) that was truly outstanding. I decided to follow that with a sampler of 6 of their beers for $9 and moved from the bar to their outside space.

The sampler included the Northtown Native, Weathered Wit, Prime Extra Pale Ale, Block IPA, Unwind IPA and theCCB0012 rye pale ale. The Northern Native was just as described - light, refreshing and full bodied - the beer for the uninitiated craft brew person in your group. The Weathered Wit - a light, slightly tart Wit - was thin bodied and an easy drinking thirst quencher. The pale ale had a delightful citrus hop nose. It was a little thin on the mouthfeel, but that just made it all the more drinkable. The Block IPA is a big hop bomb that would be better described as a double IPA at 7.8%. The high Abv is almost unnoticeable under the huge hop, pine and citrus flavors it Could easily become one of my go-to DIPAs. Their rye pale ale was a beautiful dark reddish amber with a slightly malty nose whose taste was spot on with a nice hop balance. The Unwind session IPA was also very good.

When in KC, put this on your list of craft brew destinations.

A friend and I visited thir brewery yesterday after about 90 mile drive. We loved it! Crowded but not loud. Lots of seating at tables and at long bar. About 8 drafts available. We had the porter and block IPA. Both excellent and true to style. Bar staff and patrons friendly and know their beer. I'll definitely make the drive to visit again. Highly recommended.

this is an awesome facility in north kansas city, they have a spacious taproom with a lot of room, a long bar, and a mellow, woody decor. they have a room in the back for events totally done from reclaimed materials (very cool), and even a modest patio if you can stand the summer heat out there. it all looks new and nice, and the vibe is mellow and comfortable. the brewery operation itself looks quite substantial through a small window to the back. they had ten or more beers on tap. which were really all over the map in style and quality. they absolute nailed a barrel aged black beer called black squirrel, and made one of the better english barleywines i can recall, but the ipas were really lackluster, and the wit was fairly average, then the porter was great again, tough to figure out how that variance is possible, but there it is. maybe still some newness here. service was very friendly, but the bartender didnt know the first thing about the beers, not even what some of them were, but to make up for that he let us taste just about everything. overall a cool stop if you are in that part of town, good enough to go back to i think, very fairly priced, recently started canning, the barleywine was the clear winner for me, i hope they package that one...

A quality brewery that has truly underrated beers when it comes to this website. Just about everything is above average and some stuff goes well beyond that. Only house stuff gets served here, so don't expect guest taps. Vibe is pretty low key with 2 tvs usually on sports, good music, and a good view of their barrel aging program. Service is terrific. Usually about 10-12 beers on tap so variety is okay. A good place to go to get a true local feel of the KC brew scene.

While relatively new, almost one year, this place has quite a selection of beers! I was glad I got to sample some of the beers while in KC. I look forward to my friends reviews of their upcoming beers. The facade is nothing special, but with the beers they have I would go back for sure.

Solid brewery that is getting better. While their base line selection ranges from mediocre to to decent, they offer some excellent seasonal specialities. Look out for the outstanding Black Squirrel, a rich imperial stout with lovely notes of raisin. The Berliner Weiss and barley wine are also quite good.

In North KC, in an industrial area that is developing breweries and other entertainment/eating venues. Cool interior with an industrial feel. Beers are all solid to quite good. Nice variety and good options on the beer menu.

Very nice newer brewery (2103) in North Kansas City, Missouri. Nice surroundings and nice service. Seems to attract a nice crowd. Snacks available and popcorn is free. Prices are fair and flights are available. Well worth a visit when in the area. Looking forward to how this brewery moves forward.
