Pours a dark amber leaning towards mahogany with a carmel colored head.
Smoked malt, caramel, and earthy hops in the nose.
A touch of candy with nice caramel notes followed by smoked malt and biscuit notes. Finishes dry and earthy.

Reviewing a canned version after having on tap a few times. Poured into a small glass, color is dark brown, a little dense looking.
Smell is malt and light peated smoke, touch of earthy bitter hops.
Taste is a little thinner than the aromas would promote, fairly clean finish, malt is toast, caramel, toffee and some light peat/smoke.
Mouthfeel in the canned version is a bit too carbonated and crisp for a scottish ale compared to a draft version.
Overall, i remember this being much better on tap, the taste/mouthfeel seems to have been modified some by the canning process.
