i have to respectfully disagree with the other reviewers on this one. and given the long gap since the last write up, i think they probably have reworked this recipe for the better, because it tastes quite similar to the fremont one, and people are lining up to buy that one for 30 bucks a pop. to be fair, this one isnt barrel aged, and thats half the thing about that one, but the balance of cinnamon and coffee in this is fantastic. the cinnamon isnt hot at all, but its fresh and authentic and aromatic and not relying on grain sweetness to send its message. rich full bodied porter and the coffee is like espresso here, while the cinnamon is only just the right dosage. its decadent, but that doesnt limit its drinkablilty. cinnamon is a really tough ingredient to use well, and i think this is expertly done. i know its not for everyone, but i think the crafts(wo)manship has to be appreciated. this is excellent beer, and deserves to be revisited by those who may have written it off before it hit its final evolution. i loved it, but hey, im a weirdo...
