I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: black in color with a thin finger of frothy tan foam which leaves a light lace on the glass as it dissipates. Not half bad!
Smell: lightly spicy aroma with notes of cardamom and nutmeg; kind of like a pumpkin ale without the pumpkin. Under that is a lightly roasty porter-type aroma. Altogether it's quite nice.
Taste: spicy much like the aroma, I definitely feel the chai element. There's a definite roastiness and a bitterness following therefrom; it's a little rough around the edges but I like it.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation yielding a very good creaminess. I like it.
Overall: an interesting beer, basically a pumpkin porter without the gourd. The effect is pretty drinkable.
