Appearance: The amber colored liquid is capped by a modest head that leaves some streaks of lace
Smell: Caramel, pear and spice cake
Taste: Caramel and pear flavors, up front, with spice cake and white pepper tones developing, in the middle; the finish was somewhat dry though there was also residual sweetness lingering in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: An interesting take on the style that combines both the malt forward aspects of an Oktoberfest with the yeast character of a Biere de Garde
