Heidenpeters

Pours a dark, brownish amber coloration with a big, creamy head. Smells of caramel malts and pine, with a hint of citrus fruit coming through as well. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by caramel malt and a strongly resinous, bitter character as well as some citrus/tropical fruit notes of grapefruit, mango and pineapple. Finishes with a strong bitterness and notes of pine and pineapple lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation. A really nice East Coast IPA that is perhaps a little too much on the sweet and boozy side, but still balanced nicely enough, with a strong, resinous character and notes of grapefruit and pineapple.
