Easy Gose

Pours a clear, deep, dark amber coloration with a medium, fluffy, quickly dissipating head. Smells of sweet, caramel malt, with a light gooseberry and green apple note as well. Taste is dominated by sweet, caramel malt and sea salt, with some estery gooseberry, green apple and red berry notes coming through as well, with just a hint of flowery green pepper as well. Finishes with a very light acidity and some gooseberry and green pepper lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light body and medium carbonation.

This just seems poorly balanced, to be honest: too sweet and malty, too salty and just not tart/acidic enough at all, almost being non-existent, actually. Its one saving grace are some nice estery fruit notes and the use of green pepper, which is interesting, but doesn't really work all that well here either, being quite floral, although it does seem to turn a bit more spicy in the aftertaste. It's just about all right, but really doesn't work all that well.
