I had the Infusion Brewing Red X IPA on tap at the Chop House in Omaha. The Chop House is an old school steakhouse that has updated and expanded their beer list.

Served in a snifter, the beer is a hazy, opaque red/rust with a thick & clingy beige head.

It has an aroma of pine resin, crackers and citrus.

The beer is bitter with big pine and semi-sweet malts that add a grainy quality. There is also some ripe apple and spice notes mid-glass. The spice notes remind me a bit of rye.

The mouth is oily and coating.

All-in-all an enjoyable beer!

it sure seemed like the hoppy stuff was the better beer from infusion. the pineapple ipa was amazing, and this one was really good too. its a nice rich red malty base beer, but its fairly dry by the middle, and is rather aggressively hoppy as well, i liked this one quite a lot. big frothy tan head on it, a brick red body color, and very active carbonation. it has a toasted nutty malt character, much less sweet than many other red types, maybe a specialty red barley malt in this. the hops have notes of pine to them, but arent as bitter as most ipa types, it ends up being a longer flavor experience, grain first then hops, juicy but not sweet, with tea-like elements. big fluffy body on it too, i really like the richness of it, and all the bubble keep it moving along nicely too. behind the pineapple ipa, this was the best beer i had from infusion this weekend. they seem to be all over the place with their stuff in terms of style and quality, but this is very well done, and a little something different for an ipa.
