Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/12/2017. Pours slightly hazy very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky light khaki head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of milk chocolate, cocoa, pistachio nuttiness, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, and toasted brown bread; with light notes of coffee, molasses, dark fruit, herbal, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty in the aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, pistachio, cocoa, lactose, fruity yeast and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, pistachio nuttiness, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, and toasted brown bread; with light notes of coffee, molasses, dark fruit, herbal, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very mild herbal/roast bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, pistachio nuttiness, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toasted brown bread, light coffee/molasses, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, pistachio, cocoa, lactose, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this is a very good flavored English porter. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, pistachio, cocoa, lactose, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the minimal bitter finish. Not as clean on the yeast as I expected; but nicely rich, with well balanced complexity from English malts, pistachio, lactose, and cocoa. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Appearance – Three finger head on a clear dark brown body.
Aroma – Roasted malt and light coffee, with a little nuttiness coming through. Not distinctly pistachio though.
Taste – Nutty roasted malt, not bitter at all. Pretty good.
Mouthfeel – Smooth and creamy, thicker than some stouts I have had.
Overall – Thumbs up on this one. Nuttiness comes through although it’s more generic, but it’s good.

Bought a single bottle as part of "Make Your Own Six" at the local Hy-Vee yesterday. No date on bottle and is a local brewery. Pours a very dark brown in color with a small beige head. Aroma is of dark malts with a hint of nut. Taste follows the nose with a decent mix of flavors coming together. Lighter-side of medium bodied. Very easy to drink and goes down easy with no harsh aftertaste.
