Poured from a 12 ounce can into a Shaker pint glass, "canned on" date 8-17-17.
APPEARANCE: pours a dark, copper color with less than one-finger tan head that quickly dissipated until a thin, broken layer of small bubbles remained, there is some lacing on the glass, medium carbonation.
SMELL: faint to the nose, toasted bread and caramel.
TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet caramel and bread then a roasted note.
PALATE: medium body and carbonation.
OVERALL: this is an average Marzen, it's good but nothing special, I enjoy this style during the season but would not seek it out year round, not as good as Ayinger or Weihenstephaner, there are definitely better beers in this style out there.
