Bottle:
A red more than amber ale. Decent dirty white head, minor lacing.
Nose is a sherry-leaning cherry with a nice dose of holiday spice, though the cherry sorta of dominates.
Flavor she’d the cherry-heavy, almost medical note, thankfully and enjoyably. More earthy, with a light cherry to white raisin tang, there is an earthy holiday spice back. Somewhat missing are the “high note” spices to counter those bass earthy notes.
Despite this, there’s an impression of warmth that can’t be from alcohol (at 5.8%), which is admirable to me. The feel of the holiday comes through without overdoing the spice. I don’t d find myself missing more distinct spices, though.
