Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is bursting with tropical fruits. Taste is nothing like the aroma. It's dank, a mild mixture of pine and citrus, none of the mango and papaya in the aroma, it's pretty bitter. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

3-1-19 can, 12 ouncer.

Lighter Amber pour, leaves ample fine sheeting/lace

Some resin and some grapefruit on the nose

Pretty basic IPA, grapefruit and again hop resins on the palate.

Nothing overly special going on here...but solid and worth a try

A: The beer is clear amber yellow in color and has a faint amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that left lacing on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of mangos and stone fruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of mangos and stone fruit along with hints of tangerine. There is a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA has a lot of flavors of citrus and tropical fruit hops.

I had this on draught at Hutchin's Garage in Durham, NC. Pint pour in a shaker glass. It pours an almost clear golden straw color with a small milk-white cap and thin sheen of creamy lacing. The nose was rather subdued, consisting of lemon, grapefruit, and floral hops. It has a big, hoppy, bitter West Coast taste of Mosaic, Citra, and Azacca hops with tart grapefruit, lemon pineapple, pine needles, and biscuit that became more pronounced as the glass warmed. The feel is crisp and dry with lively carbonation, and it's extremely drinkable with a temperate ABV of 6.8% overall, I was excited to finally have the chance to drink this gem. It's a straight-forward, bitter West Coast IPA and I enjoyed every sip.

Pours a slightly foggy orange with a finger of white foam. Aroma is pine, citrus, dank, and a little resin. It almost smells like a light citrus hardwood floor cleaner. Flavor profile is pine, resin, dank, and light orange-citrus. Flavor profile is a little smoother and well rounded than the aroma. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a soft, lightly-crisp texture. Overall, a solid IPA that melds soft citrus with an evergreen forest bite, with the latter being more pronounced.

Served in a Teku 3.0 from a 12oz can.

Canned 3/29/10
On opening, pours a low key gold with a finger of white head. A layer of floaties lurks beneath the surface. A ring of carbonation and surface bubbles are present.
Strong tangerine, lemon, pineapple aromas.
Citrus and light pine on the tongue, balanced by light biscuit malt.
Pleasantly bitter and dry finish. Persistent lasting carbonation.
Happy to see this in our town, I'll keep buying if they keep sending it.

Pours a golden yellow lightly hazy, like a chill haze thumb sized white head from aggressive pour leaves some spotty lace behind.

Aroma is bready malts loaded with tropical fruits, pineapple, tangerine, mango ect.

Taste is like the nose mostly good tropical fruits but more west coast style some good grapefruit rind bitterness with touches of pine in the finish might be making me give it a little boost in the score.

Mouthfeel is light side of medium probably due to the fairly peppy carbonation.

Overall a good name and a good beer, really nothing to knock it down for, could see these going down easy in a sunny Florida city.

Canned 3/19 for four weeks old. Excellent example of juicy tropical hops in a dry, West Coast-style body. Perfume-like guava and mango aroma. Flavor can't quite live up to the rich aroma, but it's smooth juice upfront and a dry, spicy finish with pleasant smack of bitterness. Damn fine beer. I want another.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of toasted caramel, pine and tropical fruits. Nice pineapple, grapefruit and citrus bite with some sweet caramel backbone.

L-The beer pours clear and golden with a full 3 finger white head. The head recedes to thin ring with a thicker central island. Lacing is excellent.
N- The nose tropical in nature as you would expect from a beer called Sunshine City. I get sweet orange, papaya, and bit of peach. I suspect this would be fantastic in a fresh can. At this point it's only moderate in intensity.
T- The taste is much like the nose with greater intensity. Bitterness is light and the beer finishes just shy of sweet. Again I suspect the age of the can has this leaning more to the sweet side than it would fresh. The tropical flavors are really tasty regardless.
F- The mouthfeel on the beer is light and slick at the same time. The carbonation is very restrained. Something I could drink in multiples although the 6.8% abv might lead me to trouble in that event.
O- A very pleasant and drinkable IPA. I'd like to find a fresher can at some point, but it is still very drinkable just the same.

I get a lot of citrus on this one. Oranges predominately. Also a bit bit of tangerines and a touch of pink grapefruit. Light crackery malt....notes of peaches and apricots emerge latter. Decent dose of bitterness on the finish.

A very good, rock solid IPA.

Canned 1/26/18, consumed 3/10/18

Poured clear golden with a small head that left a little bit of lacing.

Aroma is citrus and tropical fruits, lesser bready malts, all somewhat faint and muted.

Taste is fuller than aroma, more dank hops, more prevalent malt.

Mouthfeel is a bit uneven, slightly heavy for a regular IPA, pretty big and lingering bitterness.

Overall, a decent regular IPA coming out of Florida. Just not as complex and refined as a whole lot of regular IPAs from out West.

Poured from 12 oz can into pint glass.
A: Pours a slightly hazed golden yellow with 1/2 inch white head with good retention.
S: Very nice tropical hop aroma with mango, passion fruit, orange, key lime, and hints of lemon and grapefruit.
T: Key lime, passion fruit, mango, grapefruit, and orange. A bit tart and bitter with the lime note leading the way.
M: Light body. Lots of tropical sweetness and moderate hop bitterness.
D: Nicely refreshing with good sessionability.

L: Poured from a can to a pint glass. Had a golden yellow color and a cloudy texture. There was a quarter inch of foamy head that lasted an average amount of time. Good, but not great, lacing.

S: A very good aroma of hops, citrus, tropical fruit, and some malt.

T: Tasted of a lot of citrus (orange, tangerine, in particular), light malt notes, a fair shot of hops, a ton of citrus fruit (mangoes, papayas, kiwi), and some peach as well. An extremely lively and fruity flavor that's incredibly easy to drink. Quite well-balanced between the hops and fruit elements.

F: A well-carbonated beer with a vibrant finish. Light- to medium-bodied.

O: This is one of the more drinkable IPAs I've tried recently. Well made and likable.

Looks old school - slightly hazy golden color with a two-finger white head. Nice retention. Bright tropical aromas with some citrus and earthiness. Slightly dank up front with the earthiness, quickly joined by fruity notes - berries, mango, and oranges. "Only" 68 IBUs but that classic assertive clean bitterness. Medium bodied. A nice IPA.

Poured into a 13 oz Weyerbacher tulip glass not sure when it was canned. Pours an attractive slightly hazy orange yellow with a nice 2 finger sticky white head that leaves walls of lace.

Smell is pine, biscuit, orange, earthy, and grapefruit rind.

Taste is bigger, tons of pine and grapefruit, with a little biscuit and floral hops, but has a nice bite that lingers on the tongue.

Mouthfeel is a big sticky medium, plenty of life, a tad dry, and excellent drinkability, but tastes a little bigger than 6.8% ABV.

Overall this is nice, thanks Ocalafox for this tasty beer.

Bright yellow-orange, ok lacing, not much head. Great aroma, jammy, juicy berries. Tasty flavor too, mosaic hops, melon rind. This is a solid IPA right here.

12 oz. can poured into a tulip style pint glass.

Two fingers of white, lasting foam sits on top of a mostly clear golden body. The sticky lacing stacks up nicely on the sides of the glass.

The nose is sweet and features tropical fruit aromas with light resinous hops and biscuit malt. Taste is in line with the nose along with a moderate bitterness front to back. The tropical and resinous sweetness gives way to pine and citrus peel as it moves into a dry bitter finish. While the feel is smooth and somewhat pillow like, it is rather light and refreshing with just enough weight to call it medium bodied.

A good IPA that is not a bitter bomb or super sweet. Light, refreshing and very drinkable it is the kind of beer I could be happy drinking all day lounging by the pool.

Can (indicated to be a month old):
Pours with perhaps just the lightest orange tint on a slightly faded golden bottle. Head is fluffy to soapy, with a few craters and crags as it settles. Lacing is in cotton-like bunches.

Nose has a lightly sweet grain, cereal-like. This sweetness helps me get a light melon and tropical papaya-like notes. Not too strong.

Taste also has an initial slight honey-like sweetness, but a punch of clean to lightly piney bitterness dries that up quickly. The citrus notes come next. Tangerine me to orange zest dance with grapefruit rind with decent pith. Dry and bitter, clean and crisp into the later taste, there isn't much build up inthe aftertaste (nice). The clean finish makes me think this is on the lighter side of medium.

An enjoyable, bitter without ripping my tongue, clean with a dry finish. Glad to get a chance at this.

Look: It pours golden with an off white head. Head retention is moderate.

Smell: There are aromas of tropical fruit and papaya. There are some lighter citrus elements and low peach.

Taste: The flavors are highlighted by tropical fruits which include papaya, pineapple, and some peach. There are also sharp bitter qualities in the flavor and citrus.

Feel: It has a moderate body with a long lasting bitter aftertaste.

Overall, this is a flavorful tropical fruit IPA.

Pours a beautiful golden color with a sturdy and fluffy white head that laces moderately. Smells of tropical juices and fresh cracked grain. Flavor follows, and I personally love that crackery graininess in IPA's like this one has. Feel is pretty crisp, decent carbonation, and wonderfully bitter without being excessive. Overall, this is an outstanding IPA and would gladly have it in my fridge any day. Cheers!

Pours a pale yellow. It is an over the top Citrus ipa. Perfect for a Florida beer called Sunshine City. Tangy like a grapefruit rind with some sweet pineapple.

Nicely done, not entirely new school but straddling the fence. Bursts with citrusy hops as well as subtler tropical fruit notes (mango and pineapple maybe?); very crisp and crushable. Some bitterness on the finish to remind you this is in fact an IPA but generally tamped down and quite easy drinking.

This beer shines in both appearance (burnished dark gold, lightly hazed, fine clinging lace) and body - a medium, slightly creamy but very clean feel with just enough carbonation to give life on the palate.
