A malt forward beer designed with toffee and caramel malts using subdued hops to give it a European “old ale” character. This is a great beer to enjoy alongside a fire with that special someone

such a cool place, such an average brew. way more red than brown, a little too light, no matter what your style preferences, this one is just too small. not much head. aromatics of burnt red malt and a touch of bittersweet chocolate chips, tollhouse stuff. the taste is sugary and the body is thin, its just not enough flavor or feel for me in a brown ale, but it doesn't taste bad. in fact, there is some good malt roast, a hint of caramel, and just a little euro hop in the finish. its clean and neat, but it lets me down as brown ales go. I wanted more here. subtle toffee as it closes, and mellow bubbles, but this if through and through forgettable. I recommend most other offerings at the up and coming beer by design, but this one missed the mark for me.
