This very complex, yet well-balanced ale, has toasted complex-malt overtones, balanced with oats for creaminess. This beer is contrasted with an array of hop additions, designed to give it a bold, yet not overwhelming, hop finish.

a fine beer from these guys, but it has a few issues. for one, it does little to distinguish itself from the crowd, its a lot like many others on the market. secondly its very very thin, and even a little tannic. for a double black, i needs quite a bit more body, some more oats may help, and as far as the acidity, maybe too warm in one stage or another. its just weird to have a double come in so low, maybe its the name not the recipe thats the problem, call it a hoppy black ale, and im all on board. still the body would be awesome, make it last a little longer. on the plus side, the hops profile is nice, and its well balanced by the darker malts, which produce plenty of bitterness as well. its also real well carbonated, which is great in a style that can get heavy. really a pretty pedestrian beer, the weakest in my visit here by far. the others were all very enjoyable, but this one left a bit to be desired.
