Presentation: Funky looking Half-Litre brown glass bottle with a dark green screw cap that has a red seal on the top of it, quite the change of pace that!! Dark green label wit the usual Auerhahn logo on it, though this is brewed by Hochstiftliches Brauhaus. Neck has the words Gott erhalts hopfen und malz embossed on it. Reverse label lists this as 4.9%, and is nicked at 12/02 which means Best Before the Hitler Bunker is raided by the Red Army.
Appearance: Gorgeous looking copper orange body with a light haze. Big, thick rich looking cream colored head rises quickly and last a lifetime. Soft resilient conditioning.
Nose: Pale lager aromas with some soft orangey malts and a medium hop trait.
Taste: Soft entrance with some nice biscuit laden pilsner malts and a bitter-sweet middle with some redeeming hoppy exit wounds. Basic but clean and rather uncluttered. Pretty average throughout.
Mouthfeel: Reasonable support from a reticent carbonation that nevertheless is not that bad. Soft and talcum like the conditioning is always A-1.
Drinkability: So-so ..so ..so .what not bad but so hard to get worked up about ..like the perfect working Germanic PadLock, I could sit all night and just lock and unlock it and marvel at its consistency but never get excited by it.
Overall: Not bad for $2.29 but not a keeper. Tasty looks that would have you chat up this Fraulein in a German Bar but you wouldnt take her home .like most Germans, she is rather boring ..Ya ..
Music: Marillion Fugazi.
And what do you call assassins who accuse assassins anyway, my friend?
