16.9 oz. bottle,

A: Pours a pale yellow, with a poor white head, bad retention, and no lacing. Head dissipates in a matter of minutes.

S: Weak, though there are some pale malts, sweetness, and lemon.

T: Quite sweet for a Helles, seemed like it had kind of an off-flavor, some citrus though, and lemon, not very good, though I've had other Helleses that tasted like this, so it is not a new experience for me.

M: Pretty light, thin, pretty average for a Helles lager, and this type of lager beer.

D: A below average Helles, drinkable, but it doesn't have anywhere near the smoothness and soft malt flavors, and floral hop appeal of the originals and better proponents of this type of beer, but it is still much better than an adjunct-filled macro lager.

Pours a very pale straw yellow into my Buble Bier stein. No head, and a very small amount of carbonation. Not much to look at. Slightly cloudy.

Aroma is very weak. Slight sweetness, honey, light grassy notes.

Flavor is decent enough, but light. Grasses, light lemon, and some hop bitterness overlay the primary biscuit malts. The ending is slightly metallic, which keeps this from being a better beer.

This is not all that bad, but it's plain, it's weak, and it just is not as tasty and drinkable as some other Helles that I have tried.

Appearance – Very light and clear orange in color without much of a head.

Smell – Light malt aroma, almost grainy, without much else.

Taste – The malt flavor has a sweet undertone that seems out of place. Otherwise, it’s not bad.

Mouthfeel – I know the MHL is a lighter ale, but this one just seemed too thin for my tastes. It was also exceptionally flat, which is off-style.

Drinkability – I’ll drink it, but it was sub-par IMO.

A very pale helles with a nice sticky white head and generous carbonation. The aroma provides a nice malt ladened experience, with very faint hop presence. The taste is a bit too grainy and that pierces that sweet malt flavors and balancing hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is a bit too light, but that makes this helles very refreshing and easy to drink.

This helles is is about as light as they come: a light straw, almost American lager light in color. The head pours foamy white but dissipates quickly. The smell is grassy and just a bit herby. The flavor is quite light with a bit of bitterness backing up the semi-sweet flavor. The mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side, but it does go down well and it would make a decent all-day beer.
