Appearance: The clear copper colored liquid arrives with a decent head that leaves a bit of lacing behind

Smell: Caramel forward with a slight floral piney character

Taste: Much like the aroma, the beer starts with a strong caramel presence that is joined, in the middle, by the hops; after the swallow, the malt trumps the hops though the finish is rather bitter

Mouthfeel: Medium body with low to moderate carbonation

Overall: For an IPA, the beer is surprisingly malty; I prefer my IPAs to be more hop dominant with the malt relegated to the background

Attractive amber brew with thin cap of foam in the big chalice. Zingy carbonation to start, though it isn't as persistent as you might like. Fairly substantial, malty body.

Fragrant and toasty with rich fruity hop flavors. An abundance of malt with sweetness in the front. Lots of bitterness, but not overdone with this level of aromatics. After some sipping it still seems pretty sweet, but it balances the assertive hops. A trace of the old cat but more pineapple and apricot. This is one IPA that makes me want to keep sipping.

A spicy and enjoyably drinkable beer that hits the middle of the IPA style. From the 32 oz jug bought yesterday at the brewery tasting room in East Denver.
