From a 12 oz can (canned March 7, 2017) to a tulip. Reviewed from notes dated April 14, 2017.
A-The beer is lighter in color (more yellow) than many IPAs, but crystal clear and mostly golden. Head is tall, dense, and sticky. A cap of white foam hangs around for most of the glass; about 15 minutes.
S-The aroma is unique. I sniff some minty orange, a little bit of mandarin orange, some black pepper, green grass, as well as toast and biscuit from the malt. I am not a hop aficionado, but mandarina has such a unique aroma and this beer captures it well.
T-The taste loses a little of orange and citrus note in favor of a more leafy, fresh-cut grass note. It is not quite pine, but I pick up some dandelion, a little orange zest, and well as more toast and bicuuit malt notes.
M-The beer is medium in heft with a smooth, moderate level of carbonation. Drinkable.
O-This series of beers from Station 26 has yet to produce a beer I don't like. The mandarina hop is a little odd, but I am a fan and this beer is no exception. Good-looking and with a pleasing mouthfeel. I could have used a little more citrus on the palate.
