Poured from a 12oz can with a canned on date of 4/25/17; into a pub glass.
Appearance- clear, yellowish gold with lots of carbonation bubbles that maintain a medium thick, bubbly white head. Lacing holds up well.
Smell - sweet and dank oily hops.
Taste - I get a lot more bittersweet ruby red grapefruit than the sniff would suggest. Dank, earthy and pine hops are profound!
Feel - tastebuds are forced awake by the bitter rush of this mildly built, hop forward brew!
Overall - better than I expected; I certainly enjoy an IPA that displays some diversity, and this one hits on a lot of areas in the taste and feel department!

L: Light gold color with a very creamy head and lacing wrapping all the glass.
S: Lots of pine and grass, notes of tropical citrus, and a crackerery malt.
T: Strong piney bitterness, with grass and a few light notes of citrus. A pretty bitter IPA.
F: Medium body and creamy carbonation.
O: A beer that really shows off the Simcoe hop.

12oz can. Same appearance as the other single hop IPA's if I remember them correctly, yellow with a good head. Aroma is super piney, dank, some citrus. Flavor is the same. Not quite as good as the Mosaic but then I like mosaic hops better than Simcoes. Very similar though which makes sense given that mosaic was bred from simcoes.

12 oz can. Pours clear light straw yellow with a big fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass some.
The aroma is a little sweet bready malt with resiny piney grassy hops.
The flavor is sweet grainy malts with a ton of piney hops with some resin, a little cattiness, and a slight harsh finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a nice piney IPA. I liked the ctira version better with more fruit.

this is very good beer, incredibly fresh and well made overall, but its really not as interesting or distinct as some of the others in the series have been, and despite tasting great and scratching the ipa itch really well, it just doesnt stand out at all, its almost generic in its flavor profile. not as good featuring the simcoe specifically as some of the others have done with their hops. the base beer is super pale too, light as can be on the malt side in terms of both flavor and in body, so the simcoe really should stand out more than it does. refreshing ipa though, and easy drinking, being so light in body and highly carbonated and dry. plenty of flavor though, and plenty of bitterness in the finish. more mild grapefruit and fresh cut pine notes than i expect from this hop, maybe they need to ramp up the dry hopping a bit. simcoe can sometimes be too intense though, so i also dont really mind it being a little more on the reserved side. i will continue to be stoked on new versions of this beer, maybe sorachi ace at some point here eh boys?!
