Served on draft at the brewery (3rd anniversary celebration) in a wine glass.
Bourbon barrel was Woodford Reserve.
Appearance: liquid onyx with a dark coffee-and-cream colored head, which leaves only a lacing at the edge of the glass. The head is minimal even immediately after being poured.
Aroma: FUDGE!...and a wee tad of bourbon. Blind folded, I'd guess this was BCBS. Wonderful aroma! Fudge, chocolate and bourbon all in perfect concert.
Flavor: fudge, chocolate and bourbon. The chocolate is milk chocolate with some very slight raisin flavor.Minimal, if any, roast. Good, very good, DAMN GOOD!
Mouthfeel: thick and chewy, but this beer could stand a bit more weight to the body. This is really the only "improvement" needed.
Overall: distribute this beer, damnit! Don't hold beer drinkers hostage. Show them the light. This beer is fantastic, and without a doubt, the best beer I've ever had. This beer is very similar to BCBS in flavor. The only area where BCBS is superior is having a heavier body, which I prefer. This beer blows FW Parabola out of the water, and is better than Deschutes' Abyss by light years. This beer is absolutely incredible. I tried my hardest to get Station 26 to can me some, but they wouldn't budge. Simply incredible.
