Appearance: Arrives tea colored with just a thin head; minimal lacing, but not surprising given the age
Smell: Toffee and pine with a Bourbon embrace
Taste: A hint of toffee, up front, before the pine overwhelms; while the Bourbon arrives, after the swallow, and lingers to the finish, the pine tones still dominate
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation; some warmth in the gullet
Overall: I prefer more toffee flavor in an English Barleywine as well as an earthier hop profile; not a bad beer, just not to my style preference

Served on draft at the brewery (3rd Anniversary Celebration)
Bourbon barrel was Four Roses
Appearance: pretty; copper with hues of orange. The only head is a white lacing at the edge of the glass. There is some haze but minimal.
Aroma: sweet barley and bourbon. Very inviting
Flavor: damn tasty. Barley-sweet but not cloying; warming but not hot. This is one to sip in your cozy chair by the fireplace. The flavor is sweet wort backed up by light bourbon. It bears repeating: damn tasty.
Mouthfeel: chewy and thick. Spot on. This is not meant to drink in volume.
Overall: Station 26 has equaled the quality of Juicy Banger with this beer. A Damn fine effort. This style seems to be hit-or-miss with me. Station 26 hit the bulls eye with this version. The bourbon barrel-aging adds tremendous flavor. This is certainly one of the better barleywines that I've tried.
