Poured into an Alesmith snifter. Color is light copper; lighter than I would anticipate for an 11% barleywine. The nose I get is mostly caramel and tangerine. Palate is caramel, citrus, and a smidge of vanilla. Not bad, but the base lacks the body and structure necessary to support the barrel characteristics, and hence the brew comes off as thin. Feels like a missed opportunity. Worth trying once, but I'm not looking for more.

Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of apple, oak and roasty malt. Lots of apple brandy flavor with a boozy alcohol taste.
