i am not sure if they always use wet hops for this or if we got lucky and stumbled into a special edition, either way, its excellent beer and one of the more creative wet hop beers i have seen this fall. its neat to have these dank and resiny hops in a sour beer, and this one is quite a bit more puckery and piquant than any of the other wild beers we had in here. i love how tropical it is, guava and mango and citrus notes to it, heady well cured sativa, and clean bacterial sourness all come together in the flavor, the hops overwhelmed just a little bit by the acidity, and i would welcome a touch more bitterness here, but i love the freshness of the whole thing, the newness, and the way the sourness brings out some of the fruitiness of the hops, we dont get to see this too often, but it really works. juicy and funky, oddly full bodied for what it is, and sticky as they say, to finish. it could stand more bubbles too, it didnt quite feel as lively as it tasted, which is a shame, but i thought on the whole this beer was outstanding. id love to see more wet hop sour and wild beers next fall!
