this was hands down the least impressive beer here. its hot on the lacto, seemingly rushed through on the front end, and really flat in the mouthfeel. i thought their berliner had some of the same properties, and i was left with a less than glowing opinion of the sour beers in this place (everything else they made was very good however). this has a cool nose though, a little nuttiness from the grain, and some of that cocoa too, really is a brown at its core. the lacto is past lemony to overly acidic though, and it breaks all that grain down in the flavor, one dimensional and its a dirty intense acidic sour. if it had some bubbles to keep it moving it would be greatly improved, as its definitely light to begin with, so i could see that working better, but its almost dead still, which really hurts it for me. these guys are new enough that i can give them some grace period to figure it out, its cool they are even playing with styles like this, but this is in need of a serious overhaul to be worth drinking as it currently exists.

Tastes like lactic acid was poured into beer to "sour" it. Not very complex - single note.
